Feel Like Yourself Again... or Better!

Therapists have more ethical obligations, rules and restrictions than many professions.  The Federal and State Legislatures feel that we need more information available on our websites.  Below you can download the Informed Consent & Client Contract,  Medical Records Privacy HIPPA/  TX HB 300 Privacy Policy & A Good Faith Estimate for the No Surprise Act.

A Little About Counseling / Therapy

Counseling is a very intimate process emotionally and psychologically.  Your therapist’s role is to help guide you through this process.  Your relationship will be purely professional.  Licensed Mental Health Practitioners are held to strict ethical guidelines and are prohibited from having any dual relationships with their clients.  Counselors do not engage in social networking with clients.  The therapeutic process has a very distinctive beginning, working stage, and a conclusion.  Closure is important for you to have an opportunity to review and internalize what you've gained.   You can always come back in when life happens;  it usually does.

Most emails and Texts are not secure  unless they are sent through a HIPPA compliant platform.  Please do not send clinical information unless it is encrypted or  faxed.   Yes, the mental health and medical community still fax.  : )

If you urgently require assistance and cannot reach me please call the crisis hotline at 512-472-4357, Bluebonnet Trails Emergency after hours at 800-841-1255, Psychiatric Emergency Services at 512-454-3521, call 911, or go directly to the nearest hospital or call 911.

You can call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org or text 741741.

Many therapists prefer to not testify in court.  If you reasonably expect that your counseling will result in court related issues, Tell your Therapist.  It is highly recommended that you seek out a counselor familiar with and comfortable with testifying and court work.

If you have a complaint and if I am unable to resolve your concerns, you may report your complaint to the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.  The LPC board may be contacted for complaints at 1-800-942-5540. 333 Guadalupe St, Tower 3, Room 900 | Austin, Texas 78701 or call (512) 305-7700 or call 800-821-3205 24-hour, toll-free complaint system.
